Evaluate 8x^–2y^0 for x = 2 and y = –4.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Replace x with 2 and y with -4. Then evaluate 8x^(-2)y^0 8(2)^(-2)*(-4)^0 8(1/(2^2))*(1) 8*(1/4)*1 8/4 2 So 8x^(-2)y^0 = 2 when x = 2 and y = 0
