Find the common antilogarithm of (7.3139 - 10).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey there want me to try to help you??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes please :) All I have to do is plug into my calculator log and then (7.3139-10), correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you there??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I'm here. This OS isn't working for me right now :/ I don't know what's going on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hello?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lost internet sorry you still there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I'm here :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ln is naturall long

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now in order to find the ln recall that ln is has base what ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure I understand :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here is an aide go to this website http://www.yourdictionary.com/antilogarithm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey good news for you, I have TI 92 I should have batteries wed or th

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did the webpage come up for you??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, yea it came up. I see the definition

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so do you understand what is being asked now??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes but how would I calculate this for my problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did the webpage show you this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because this question requires a calc and my TI 92 won't have batteries it will be hard for me to show you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I can do it on mine. I just need to know what button to select

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what type?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

TI 83

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay let's see I recall how to do this on TI 83 bare with me..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here is another aid http://clas.sa.ucsb.edu/staff/lee/AntiLogs.htme webpage the only reason for this one,in case I don't know how to tell you do this on TI 83 right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now type in the number just like it is, than there should be LN button and press it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I tried typing ln(7.3139-10) and it didn't work. Then I tried 7.3139-10ln( and it didn't work :( Both times I got error

OpenStudy (anonymous):

try this hit ln and than type the number remebr to ^ this so it know this power to -10 not just ten

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bump the question up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm that worked. I got -19.897 but that doesn't match my options... a. .00206 b. .0000206 c. .000206 d. .0206

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you type out the whole problem and what is it asking word for word plz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait a second let us try to do each of these and work backwards here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that means take the answers and convert to to LN instead once you have the same answer than you know it's right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have a feeling it's c. not sure how I know this but it is a feeling

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://clas.sa.ucsb.edu/staff/lee/AntiLogs.htm Maybe this can help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is the webpage when I tried it was removed what is going on??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know :( But i'll try what you suggested about working backwards

OpenStudy (anonymous):

try c first just a feeling is all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I plugged in ln(.000206) and got -8.4876... I don't think I did it right...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

give a couple seconds I am going to come with up something

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you doing LN or log?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LN

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no do log

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So log.. then what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do log with answer c.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we are still working backwards here..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3.686

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now do the LN of that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it should a power 10 in the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So ln(-3.686)? I got error

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright that is it I am now going to war on this problem, be prepare for battle you math problem I will solve you lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha I'M WITH YOU! LOL Thank you for not abandoning me :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you don't have a calculator maybe you could use www.wolframalpha.com

OpenStudy (anonymous):

won't with my computer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have winds 7 not windows xp or earlier

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think I just won this war, check this webpage out it should help here http://www.ehow.com/how_5136468_calculate-antilog.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh o.k., so now I follow these steps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did the answer come out right for you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm having trouble with the steps :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in what step

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried it twice but did it wrong. :/ Can you go step by step with me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just a min I hope I can get someone here to help me to help you better.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bump the question to the top again, just trying to get one other so I be sure I am telling you right steps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

O.k. thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh wait, this question is closed :/ You can give the link?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

reopen it plz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do you reopen a closed question? Should I just repost?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

repost it plz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have someone that knows how to do this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

K it's on top

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dang it I am so mad at this right now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can not show you how do this because you have Ti 83 and don't have batteries for my TI 92 dang it..
