for the first one... you use pathgyreon's theorem... a^2+b^2=c^2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
since it is a perfect square, both sides are 45... 45^+45^2=4050.... square root of 4050 is 63.63961
OpenStudy (anonymous):
45^2+45^2=4050... rather
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the second one... the left triangle is half of a perfect square... 90 degree corner with 2 45 degree corners is 180 degrees

so, you know the 2 legs are the same
OpenStudy (anonymous):
you can say x^2+x^2=square root(8)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so your legs are 2^(1/4) each
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then you have to use trig to find the other angle and legs on the right triagle... AAS and AAA formulas, i dont remember those... they'r eonline somewhere or in your book, should be fairly easy to compute
OpenStudy (anonymous):
third is practically the same, you have 3 right triangles interlocked, you have angles (45 and 90 degree)
