What is the approximate distance from (4, 6) to (-2,1)?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

use the distance formula \[\huge \text{distance} = \sqrt{(x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2}\] does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure what math that is..^ but im in math 3 ad i havnt really heard or seen that formula yet . but im sure if you demonstrate i might be able to do it.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

im sure you have :D substitute the coordinates \[\huge \implies \sqrt{(-2 - 4)^2 + (1 - 6)^2}\] simplify that to get your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay:) thank you

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

welcome ^_^
