An identification code is to consist of seven letters followed by two digits. How many different codes are possible if repetition is permitted?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you would take 7 and multiply it by 26 this is because you need 7 letters and there are 26 letters in the alphabet then you would take 2 and multiply it by ten this is because you need 2 numbers and there are 10 single digit numbers (0-9) you would add those two numbers together to get your answer

did that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

confused got the 7 times 26 part dont undrstand second part what 2 numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well you have 2 one digit numbers and there are ten one digit numbers (0-9) if you want to find all the combination's for 2 one digit numbers you just multiply 2 times ten
