I am trying to answer this question and am unsure of what to do with the units- do i square the (m/s)? 1/2(6x10^4 kg)((200 m/s)^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think what should really be written is: \[1/2(6x10^{4 }kg)((200 m/s^{2})\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or if you write it in more cleare way: \[6*10^{6} kg* m/s^{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[K=1/2(6x10^{4})(200m/s)^{2}\] this is what it should be- sorry i have never used the site before and didnt know about the equation editor feature- how do i deal with the (m/s) with the squaring it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to square the units too: \[(200m/s)^{2}=200^{2}m ^{2}/s ^{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you! so the final answer would be: \[1.2x10^{9} (kg)(m ^{2})/s ^{2}\] ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think you forgot to devide by 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh never mind, ya you correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much :D
