Is the relation {(3, 5), (–4, 5), (–5, 0), (1, 1), (4, 0)} a function? Explain.

OpenStudy (eyust707):

If you input the same value for x do you ever see an output that is different?

OpenStudy (eyust707):

In other words... the points are given in the form (x,y). The first number is the x the seconf number is the y. If we ever see two points with the same x value they better have the same y value too!

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Are there any two points given with the same value of x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no..

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Correct! Since all the x values are unique, we can assume it is in fact a function.

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Is there another one after this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. haha. couple more.

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Lets see.. I bet one of them will not be a fuction, I will show you why.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. I think i do! I got some that arent question like that to. theyre all mixed up!

OpenStudy (eyust707):

grrr thats annoying... lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know!
