This is what I did to get my answer, can someone check it please? original problem = 8(y+2)/12(y+2)(y-2) + 9(y+2)(y-2) = 8+9(y+2)(y-2)/12(y+2)(y-2) = 17(y+2)(y-2)/12(y+2)(y-2) Am I able to cancel out the (y+2)(y-2) from the top and bottom to end up with just 17/12? Is this even remotely correctly?

is the question simplify or solve?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm going to say simplify. All it says is add/subtract and simplify if possible so that's my best guess.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

try multiplying thw wholw equation by 24(y-2)(y+2),then you;ll get rid of the fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think i need to get rid of the fractions.

the question here should be actually solve...but whatever,i'll add the left-handside alone first|dw:1344890903624:dw|
