List the first four terms of a geometric sequence with t1 = 4 and tn = -3tn-1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(t_1 = 4\) \[\large t_n = - 3 \cdot t_{n-1}\] Put n = 2 to find Second term. Put n = 3 to find Third term. Put n = 4 to find Fourth term..

is that the complete answer? @waterineyes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's the complete answer.

whyd you delete it??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because it was wrong, I'd read your original equation wrong I think. tn=-3tn-1 just says that the term n is -3 times the term before it. So if you have t1 = 4 then t2 will be -3 times 4 = -12. That ok?

thanks!
