am i doing these problems correctly? 1. x – 3 > –9 2. –2x + 1 ≤ –11 3. 10 < –3x + 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x – 3 > –9 +3 +3 x > -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

–2x + 1 ≤ –11 -1 -1 -2x ≤ -12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10 < –3x + 1 -1 -1 9 < -3x

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

thats fine as far as you've gone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i feel like i forgot somthing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

partially yes, but -2x ≤ -12 is not an answer you need to have just x how to remove that -2 from x? just divide by -2 both sides also don't forget when dividing multiplying by negative number this < becomes > and viceversa

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

well you need to finish the last two

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ya i forgot to divide thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

show your answers when you done it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

–2x + 1 ≤ –11 -1 -1 -2x ≤ -12 -2 -2 x≤6 10 < –3x + 1 -1 -1 9 < -3x -3 -3 -3<x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u forgot that u need to change direction of sign when multiplying or dividing as i said so it should be \(x\geq6\) and \(-3>x\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also its nicer to write x<-3 than -3>x but both of them are correct answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you
