OpenStudy (eyust707):

Okay so have you been taught how polar coordinate system works?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, a little bit. Still kind of confusing though

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Okay so basically up to this point we have been learning about the x-y plane

OpenStudy (eyust707):

In order to describe the location of point on a flat surface, like a piece of paper, we can use x-y coordinates. These tell us where the point is by saying how far to move left/right and how far to move up/down.

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Well the polar system can also describe the location of a point on a flat surface but it does so a little differently.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh o.k. Following u so far :)

OpenStudy (eyust707):

They polar system says this: |dw:1345097078257:dw| Start right in the middle at the origin

OpenStudy (eyust707):

facing this direction |dw:1345097138195:dw|

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Now turn a certain amount |dw:1345097178358:dw|
