How can I convert 225 degrees into radain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiply by a specific size in radians and divide by the same amount in degrees.

OpenStudy (waheguru):

Can you show I am learning this so I dont really get it

hero (hero):

To convert degrees to radians, multiply 225 by \(\frac{\pi}{180}\)

hero (hero):

Don't forget to simplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're basically trying to get from a certain unit of measurement to another. What you want to do is divide by the current unit (degrees) to get rid of it and multiply by the unit you want in order to obtain the result in that unit. Basically, you want do multiply your 225 deg by x*rad/deg, but to make sure you're getting the right amount, you must make sure that the upper part is the same as the lower one. Usually you multiply by pi/180.

OpenStudy (waheguru):

So 225 times pi/180 =3.9

hero (hero):

You're not supposed to simplify it like that. It needs to be an exact number.

hero (hero):

reduce the fraction 225/180

OpenStudy (waheguru):

5/4 pi

OpenStudy (waheguru):

@Hero @PurpleNose am I right
