why is 1/0 equal to infinity if we cross-multiply we get zero times infinity equals 1

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

\[\large\frac{1}{0}\neq \infty\]It is undefined.

ok tx

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

you're welcome.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you answer any physics questions

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

Not usually, but I do have a basic knowledge of physics.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this really puzzles me KG /photons are massless particles correct BUT they possess energy e.g. gamma rays now from e equals mcsqd. if they have zero mass how can they possess energy

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

That is a great question, and it involves come complex particle physics that I do not fully understand. However, check out this website. They have an explanation on this matter, as well as hundreds of other fascinating subjects. http://www.askamathematician.com/2010/09/q-how-can-photons-have-energy-and-momentum-but-no-mass/

fantastic site kg /one more question and i leave you be ok you are great man

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

no problem.
