3^3-(34-2*4)= what

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Got a good calculator? Start with the exponent 3^3=27 then do the multiplication 2*4=8 then do parenthesis 34-8=28

OpenStudy (anonymous):

27-28=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3^3 - (34 - 2*4) = 27 - (34 - 8) = 27 - 34 + 8 = 1

wt? @richterp there is no x in this equation. There is no need to move stuff from one side to the other. All you have to do is solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1

You cannot just remove the parenthesis by the way. You need to follow the rules. PEMDAS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction. If not done IN THAT ORDER then the answer can come out wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Basically you cant take that 8 and turn it from negative to positive. You need to subtract it from 34 then proceed with the rest of the calculations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nevermind 27-26 error of my calculation but you still cant turn that 8 from negative to posivite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes 1 :)

thanks

Math Blonde - I didn't move anything to the other side, just showed the solution step by step for those that might miss the distribution of the negative through the parentheses.
