Your friend bought a total of 10 CDs and DVDs as gifts for $199. The price per CD is $15 and DVDs are $22. Write and solve an equation to find how many CDs and how many DVDs your friend bought. How would your answer change if the total cost of the CDs and DVDs was $185? Explain.

your friend bought 10 CDs and 10 DVDs.. your answer would change if the total cost of the CDs and DVDs were $185 if your friend bought 5 CDs and 5 DVDs.. soo if ur friend bought 5 cds and 5 dvds ur answer would change into 185$ :)

But what equation would be used to find that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright.. okay so 1 cd = 15$ and 1 dvd = 22$ then, 5 cds = ? and 5dvds = ? then multiply 5 with 15 and 22 , you'll get 185

But the first question is for $199, I know how to do it, but to right an actual EQUATION with a VARIABLE, how would you do that?

hold on lemme think.. sorry

No its ok
