Would the mileage on an odometer on a car be *discrete or continuous* quantitative data? Discrete- whole number (intergers) Continuous- non interger I don't drive so I dunno what a odometer is...or how it exactly works.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

modern odometers digitial, so i guess it would be discrete

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking discrete too.

OpenStudy (phi):

Even with the old style, when you write down a reading, you write a discrete number to the nearest 1/10 of a mile. so discrete

Thank you so much guys!! :)

OpenStudy (fellowroot):

continuous would mean that it would give you a more precise mileage. think like this, discrete is like integers continuous is like all real numbers
