OpenStudy (matt6288):

2x+3y+z x=3 y=-1 z=2 the answer is 5 but i got 7?..

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

2x+3y+z 2(3)+3(-1)+2 6 - 3 + 2 Did you get this far?

OpenStudy (matt6288):

ohhh.. i made 2 mistakes i put the a=3 as a negative and for 3(-1) why isnt the 3 a negative?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the 3 is positive, but plugging in y = -1 makes it negative

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so it starts positive, but becomes negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6+(-3)+2 is the same as what jim wrote

OpenStudy (matt6288):

ohhhhhhhh omg.. ik that lol... thx tho.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
