9w+5=12w-4? Please Help i want to learn the steps and figure out the answer myself. Im stuck on how to isolate the w's
first move all the terms with w to one side do you have any idea how to do this?
sorta kinda
ok then what will you do?
umm lol like you said move all the w's to one side.. But idk why or how
ok then, tell me what will happen to the entire thing if we subtract 9w from both sides of the equation?
so -9 on the 4 to?
basically we start with 9w+5=12w-4 we subtract 9w on both sides 9w+5-9w=12w-4-9w the 9w on the left side cancels out on the right side, it becomes 3w so you get 5=3w-4 do you understand this?
yess. i do
4-9w would just stay as 4-9w the 9w wouldnt affect a constant, unless it was 4w instead
exactly.
answer is 3
ok now that you have 5=3w-4 any idea what to do next? we want the constants to be on the other side of the w
yea the answer is 3 good job
im not dumb you know lol my honors geometry teacher got us doing this worksheet to "refresh our minds"
no offense to you or anyone, but alot of people dont understand this it gets really frustrating from time to time having to explain it as simple as possible and even then sometimes people still dont get it
so better safe than sorry
yeah you kinda told me that yesterday. and i understand im just being a bit lazy thats it
