Factor. 11x+10x^2

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

what do you think is the GCF (greatest common factor) of 11x and 10 x^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Uh...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1x? idk

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

GCF is the greatest term which divides into these 2 terms example GCF of 2x and 4x = 2x

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

yes thats right - only you don't need the 1 - its just x

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

so take out x and divide this into 11x and 10x^2 and the results of the division go into the parentheses 11x / x = 11 and 10x^2 / x = 10x so we get the factors: x(11 + 10x)
