Explain how breast cancer genes are still present in the population, despite cancer related surgeries and deaths.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think about it: does breast cancer stop sufferers from breeding? Does it kill all of them? Does having a breast cancer-related gene even guarantee that you'll get the condition?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do u mean by breeding , and no it doesnt kill all of them or guarantee the condition

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean... do breast cancer sufferers have kids? Having kids means passing on some of your genes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah obviously the do have kids but they have a risk of getting the genes or breast cancer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right. So there you go. That's how it stays in the population.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i could put even though they risk having genes of the parents it doesnt stop them from breeding ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well... the most important thing is that breast cancer genes don't stop people from reproducing unless they get cancer young and die before they get a chance. And remember, men are far less likely to get breast cancer than women, so if they have a breast cancer gene, it's even less likely that they'll die before having kids.

alright thanks for the help
