SAD standsfor social anxiety disorder. How does SAD differ from developmentally normal shyness?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

in my opinion, shyness is more on inferiority complex. You become shy because you don't like talking to people because you are insecure. You are afraid of what they may think of you. Afraid that if you say something bad, then it will influence their impression on you and not talk to you anymore social anxiety, however, is more intense. If shyness is just afraid because of what people may think, the disorder is an intense fear. A person overthinks the repercussions. For example, a shy person would be shy to talk to a person because the shy person might have a bad breath. However, a social anxious person would think a step further. the social anxious person would think that if he has bad breath then his whole social life is over. I don't think my metaphor was clear, but my main point is shyness is just fear while SAD is intense fear. does that help?
