I really need help with this word problem. Two angles of a triangle measure the same. The third angle measures 20 degrees more than the sum of the other two angles. How much does each angle measure?

hero (hero):

1. If two angles measure the same but we don't know what they are, we use x to represent both angles. 2. The combination of two angles, with the same measure, x is x + x = 2x 3. If the third angle measures 20 more than the sum of the first two angles, then the measure of the third angle becomes 2x + 20 4. To find the measure of these angles, remember that all three angles add to 180 degrees. 5. Thus: angle 1 = x angle 2 = x angle 3 = 2x + 20 6. To find x, solve the following equation: x + x + (2x + 20) = 180

Thank you so much. You are awesom at what you do! I have battled feeling a little silly lately. It has been, lets just say a little while, since my last math class and now I am finally finishing college. I really procrastinated with college algebra and I am paying for it now!! LOL, I know there are simple solutions, it is just getting over the "over thinking" part. Thank you again!
