Can someone help me with the attached problem? Please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

\[ P=10.03\cdot x-77 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do we get the answer though? I want to show all the steps.

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

if x is the numbers of cars serviced and u charge 10.03 per car then your revenue is x times 10.03

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Do you know how to do part b?

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

your costs are 77 (fixed) then the profit is what i posted first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And?

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

for part b: \[ 3022=10.03\cdot x-77 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then would you subtract 10.03-77 and divide the answer*x by 3022 to solve for x?

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

first add 77 to both sides then divide by 10.03

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, and whatever I get after is the answer?

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

yes

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

what do u get??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And how would I write the answer in sentence form?

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

what do u mean??

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

like in school???

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

i don't know. maybe "if your costs are $77 and u charge $10.03 per car serviced, then in order to make a profit of $3022 u have to have serviced around 309 cars"

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

does it sound OK????
