Hey just just to throw this out there, my idea is if the math problem a graphing calculator there should a bottom with that picture as students post, so therefore we who are helping the student will know that we need to have this in order to work the posted math problem. What are your thoughts??

As far as I see, he/she is asking for a graphing program on OS where the asker can input the graph.

If there is a graphing function, then all the questions of ''graph ...'' would be solved easily (by using the graphing function to provide direct answers).

Grid button would be a better idea.

since providing "direct answers" is frowned upon, i dont see where that would be useful other than just doing all the work for the person that asks the question

with the grid, we can set it up or be able to see how the asker is interpreting the material

There should be a graphing button along with the drawing tool so if the button is pressed, a grid appears automatically.

Ah. Hm. Yes, we've gotten this suggestion a few times. Sounds like a swell idea, and it's on the list o' stuff we're considering next time we give some love to the drawing tool. :)

my guess is that the suggestion was not to have a graphing program, but rather to have a graphing icon that a user could attach to the question, indicating that it required a graphing (or some other ) calculator.
the reason for this guess is that this is what most textbooks do.  if the exercise needs a calculator, there is a little picture of one

just a guess though.

i don't know why we need and actual graphing program here. if you are on a computer, there are many already at your disposal
