We know mitochondria of a cell has its own DNA. Now, does the genome has any copy of that mitochondrial DNA in it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Short and Sweet...yes. Mitochondrial DNA was the first significant part of the human genome to be sequenced. Here is a good source so you can further learn about the significance of mitochondrial DNA: http://www.wormbook.org/chapters/www_mitogenetics/mitogenetics.html

Thanks for that!now, during cell division, cellular dna starts to replicate. But, is there any signalling system that tells the mitochondrial dna to start its replication or so? or cellular dna supplies the necessary mitochondrial dna?(awkward question,i guess!).My main problem is, How do mitochondrial and cellular dna collaborate in replication during cell division??

i guess,i can open a new question with it....
