Solve

OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

\[\sqrt{11}/2-\sqrt{5}\]

OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

and by solve i mean rationalize the denominator.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

use the fact that:\[a^2-b^2=(a+b)(a-b)\]to eliminate the radical in the denominator.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

the denominator contains: \(2-\sqrt{5}\) so if you multiply both the numerator and denominator by: \(2+\sqrt{5}\) then the radical should disappear from the denominator

OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

awesome, thanks for the help!
