Oh,and as far as i can tell,it's very powerful ,even when compared to C++! If you want a clear example,compare the way you can manipulate strings in these 2 languages !

There is a free course that will start October 15 that will use materials from MIT, this discussion group and exercises from Codecademy. You can read more about it here: http://nyti.ms/Ou3ch7 There won't be any recognition, but programming skills are something you can demonstrate to a potential employer.

The answer here is very broad.
But I understand the question.
www.python.org they have awesome wikis too.
Download the 2.7 if you are planning on studying python.
3.3.0 version is not supported that much. If you did any other programming languages, I strongly encourage you to download the 2.7 version.
