Postulate/Theorem? Quick question So these are the two statements: 1. If two lines intersect, then they intersect at exactly one point. 2. In a right triangle, the square of the length of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the length of the legs.

I know the first is a Postulate but I don't understand #2. Is it a postulate or a theorum?

the second statement is pythagoras theorem and first is postulate

basically postulate is a fact based on reasoning and theorem is a general proposition proved and accepted on the basis of reasoning
