You are looking at tissue under a microscope. One cell shows half the amount of DNA of some of the other cells. This cell is most likely to be in which phase of the cell cycle?

Cells duplicate their DNA when they commit to cell division. So if a cell has precisely half the DNA of all the other cells, has it committed itself to divide or not?

That's a very decent question. I think it's the metaphase. I may be wrong but the way you're describing the cell's DNA I would believe that it's true.
