Can somebody please tell me how to do this ? Write the equation of the line which passes through (5, -2) and is parallel to x = 4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well x = 4 is a vertical line so the line that passes through (5, -2) must also be vertical.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there some sort of equation that goes along with this or something ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's just another x=something equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you explain a little more how to do it, please? I'm honestly lost on this!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, all vertical lines are parallel to each other right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the line parallel to x = 4, which is a vertical line, must also be a vertical line. So far so good?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ide say y=4x-22 bro-ski

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is only one vertical line that passes through (5, -2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me try to draw
