Which phrase represents the algebraic expression three plus x over five ? five divided by a number, increased by three five greater than a number divided into three the sum of three and a number divided by five five more than the quotient of a number and three

OpenStudy (shane_b):

three plus x => sum of three and a number over five => divided by five So which do you think it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The third one.

OpenStudy (shane_b):

You win :)

OpenStudy (tyteen4a03):

The equation is \(3 + \frac{ x }{ 5 } or \frac{ 3 + x }{ 5 }\). I dislike this kind of question because it doesn't explain whether it's the first expression or it's the latter expression.

OpenStudy (shane_b):

Yea, I guess it is a bit ambiguous but I took it as the latter of your equations
