The numbers 1 through 5 are recorded on individual slips of paper and placed in a hat. What is the probability of drawing the 3, not replacing it, and then drawing the 4?

OpenStudy (shane_b):

The odd of picking a 3 would be 1 in 5 and after that, the odds of picking a 4 would be 1 in 4...so the combined odds would be: \[\frac{1}{5}*\frac{1}{4}=?\]

OpenStudy (bacon):

because there is only one 3 so the first Q is 1/5 and the second Q is 1/4 because there is only 1 4 left in 4 numbers

OpenStudy (bacon):

so it would be 1/5 x 1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 1/20?

OpenStudy (bacon):

oi
