Solve the inequality.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oops waitttt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

17−2y ≤ 5(7−3y)-15 There

hartnn (hartnn):

u can start by using this a(b+c)=ab+ac

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@hartnn Factoring??

hartnn (hartnn):

5(7-3y)=5*7-5*3y=??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

35-15y-15 then 20-15y @hartnn

hartnn (hartnn):

yup,thats your right side... any idea how u will proceed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@hartnn I tried rearranging it on my paper, like all the y terms on one side and the numbers on the other, and then simplified the problem and i got a really weird answer, idk really what to do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@hartnn i also tried factoring the y terms, like y(15-2) but i have to graph my answer :/

hartnn (hartnn):

u have 17-2y<=20-15y 1. add 15 y to both sides 2. then,subtract 17 from both sides and tell me what u get....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

13y < 3

hartnn (hartnn):

13y<=3 so y<=3/13

hartnn (hartnn):

got that?u missed = sign only

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought in inequalities you didn't use an equal sign lol! But i got it, thanks :)

hartnn (hartnn):

ok,welcome :)
