OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

Solve the inequality.

OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

1/3v+1/4v = 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are the v variables?

OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

yes sir.

hartnn (hartnn):

start by multiplying 12v on both sides....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just putting it out there...this isn't an inequality :)

OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

i meant the < not =. my bad.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay

OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

multiply 12v on each side yields 12v/2 and idk what else becuase of the different denominators.

hartnn (hartnn):

on left side,it will be 12v/3v + 12v/4v =??

OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

24v/7v

hartnn (hartnn):

oh,u don't just add it like that, first v gets cancelled because its both in numerator and denominator so what remains is 12/3 + 12/4 =??

OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

7. because we can just solve those out right?

hartnn (hartnn):

right :) thats your left side, what was right side??

OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

6

hartnn (hartnn):

specifically, 6v ok?

hartnn (hartnn):

7<=6v

OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

yeah and then we could divide by 6 and get 7/6 < v right?

hartnn (hartnn):

absolutely correct :) just also put = sign v>= 7/6

OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

alright thanks!

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome :)
