Using synthetic division, what is the quotient: (2x3 – 2x – 12) ÷ (x – 2) ?

you get the coefficents of each term of the first equation ok... 2 0 -2 -12 (i put a zero there because there is no x^2 understand?) then you put 2 next to it and i get 2 because x-2=0 and x=2 so its like this... 2/ 2 0 -2 -12 0 4 8 12 -------------- we always put a 0 under the first number then add so its 2 2 4 6 0 then multiply 2 by the number above which is 4 and put it under the next number which is 0. then add 0 and 4 which is 4 and put it under the line. Then multiply 4 by the number above which is 2 so u get 8 and put it under -2. Then u add -2 and 8 so u get 6 and put it under the line. Then multiply 6 by the number above which is 2 so u get 12 and put it under -12. Then add -12 and 12 so u get 0 and since the last number u added was zero that means there is no remainder. Then you get every number under the dotted line and since the question had x^3 u put one less which is x^2 ao the answer iss.... 2x^2+4x+6 and this is ur answer srry it took long but i wanted to explain clearly if there is a part u dont understand ask
