3. Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote the “Letter from Birmingham Jail” to (1 point) defend his actions. react to a statement. teach his fellow clergymen. all of the above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is math lol

OpenStudy (shane_b):

He wrote it while in jail in response to a statement made by some white Alabama clergymen who wrote "A Call For Unity" a few days earlier. Their letter conceded that social injustices were taking place but expressed the belief that the battle against racial segregation should be fought solely in the courts and not taken onto the streets. Again, however, this isn't math :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So i still dont understand though what would it be?

OpenStudy (shane_b):

It was merely in response to a statement.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be B.) react to a statement?

OpenStudy (shane_b):

On second thought...I suppose it should be all of the above. I just perused the letter and seems to do the other things too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay thank you and i was wondering if you could help me in a couple more qurestions??

OpenStudy (shane_b):

History isn't really my thing...you should post these types of questions in the History group

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The thing is tho this isn't history....

OpenStudy (shane_b):

Whatever subject it's for it's still a history question...it's asking about a letter that was written over 50 years ago not. It's certainly not a math question :)
