prove that a vector space has only one zero vector

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know the definition of a zero vector?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not compulsarily the number zero....thats for sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i cant prove it but i can reason it out say we're looking at V2, a vector space with 2 coordinates, the zero vector would be [0,0] [0,1] or [1,0] would not be zero vectors looking at V3, the zero vector would be [0,0,0] etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess you might consider it as a vector without a direction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

zero vector is also known as a null vector http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Null_vector

yeah..thanks btw

mathematically proving stuff is hard... not a math major and dont intend on being one
