Susana: Cálmate Pablo. Ya veo el muelle. La _____________ está detrás de aquel edificio.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

hmm maybe "mar" which means sea? "Ya veo el muelle" means "I see the dock" so a logical answer would be the sea..which is "mar" in Spanish does that help?

"Mar" would fit, except that it's a masculine noun. "El mar." This blank is looking for a feminine noun. I was thinking maybe "nave" (ship). But..... Redsox I'm guessing this came with a word bank. Maybe? I could help you by translating the sentence, with the blank. Cálmate Pablo. Ya veo el muelle. La _____________ está detrás de aquel edificio. It means, "Calm down Pablo. I see the dock. The ________ is behind that building."

'La Mar', this is what the oldman (from The Old man and the sea) calls the sea. "He always thought of the sea as 'la mar' which is what people call her in Spanish when they love her. Sometimes those who love her say bad things of her bur they always said as though she were a woman." I'm not fluent in Spanish but this what i thought of when i read the question above.

It Probably is LA PLAYA which means The Beach.
