Two identical twins, Derek and Aaron, grew up in the same household without any health problems. For most of his life, Derek had a high-stress job and did not have time for exercise. Aaron, on the other hand, led a low-stress lifestyle and exercised regularly. How would their cardiovascular systems compare?

First step of thought, not answer: Because the two are identical twins, they are genetically identical. They also grew up in the same household so you can assume that any difference between them late in life is due to lifestyle choices they have made through their lives.

there will be no big difference in their cardiovascular system. because the first thing is they are twins. they are brought up in same environment for a long period of time later only they get shifted in to diff jobs so there will be no such difference in their health

OpenStudy (blues):

Their cardiovascular systems would not be vastly different - vastly different as in one twin has a major heart defect and the other twin is healthy. But the differences between them would be substantial. Regular exercise expands the circumference of arteries and improves tensile strength in all vessels; it leads to better valve function in the veins; it would produce a healthier, less easily inflamed endothelium (layer of cells lining the vasculature and heart); and it would prevent lifestyle related heart diseases like cardiac hypertrophy and ischemic insult. List not inclusive. In clinical terms, I would expect it to add 5-8 years to the life expectancy of the exercising, low stress twin than seen in the sedentary, high stress twin. The question is basically about the effect of lifestyle on cardiovascular function. And those effects are substantial.
