can some one tell me When Does History Start?

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Well I'll start by saying I know very little about history... This is kind of an odd question but when I thought about it, it is actually pretty good. When does history start? Well I suppose you could say history started when we started writing it down? Would "cave paintings" count as history? Or maybe it started when we were able to first remember? What do you think?

OpenStudy (this):

huh cool idea like tat

OpenStudy (this):

@TranceNova do u kw the answer for diz Q who start history?

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Well I answered to the best of my knowledge, though I am not sure if there is a definite answer. Is this a homework type question or an essay (ie. how much do you need to write and does it need to be referenced)?

OpenStudy (this):

huh i have to write essay with wh questions

OpenStudy (trancenova):

So you have to write an essay from homework questions (sorry I don't understand). How long does your answer need to be? Anyway if you have to write an essay you will need to start by writing down your ideas, these "ideas" will start off your paragraphs. What are some of your ideas? :) If you've already written something down I can check that for you if you like?

OpenStudy (this):

the would be the best

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Sorry I still don't understand what you mean...

OpenStudy (this):

ok well srry for tat, here is my essay

OpenStudy (this):

What History is the analysis and interpretation of the human past that enables us to study continuity and change over time.. It is an act of both investigation and imagination that seeks to explain how people have changed over time. Historians use all forms of evidence to examine, interpret, revisit, and reinterpret the past. These include not just written documents, but also oral communication and objects such as buildings, artifacts, photographs, and paintings. Historians are trained in the methods of discovering and evaluating these sources, and the challenging task of making historical sense out of them. Nevertheless, historians do not always agree on interpretations of the past. The debated differences help expand and enhance our understanding of human development. whyWe learn about history, so we can attempt to make the present and future a better place to live. By learning about our past we can make better choices and not make the same mistakes twice. And we also learn about ourselves and how we can, perhaps make history. We try to reconstruct the past so that we can understand the present and plan for the future. If the dramatic stories of the past, in themselves, do not interest a student, and if a student has no desire to understand the present or to plan for the future, then I suspect that no answer to the question will be good enough. when humans were alive Humans first arrival into history was 5,000,000 years ago when Australipithicus Affarensis first appeared on earth modern man(homo sapien) has been here for 50,000 years Rebutting the second answer, if you believe that the Bible is true, human history began when Adam was created on the 6th day of the universe's existence. History means recorded events, prehistoric means before writing or drawings were invented. Early cave drawings have dated as far back as 7500-7250 b.c.. when creation began and when God created Adam.

OpenStudy (trancenova):

That sounds great! (I'm just checking your Australipithicus Affarensis information), perhaps you could add something about that being the start of history because they would have started to pass down knowledge or something like that?

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Hmm I am unsure weather if is a good idea to use Australipithicus Affarensis as the earliest "human". It's hard to tell.. you could use Homo habilis as it is the first of the "Homo" genus and used tools, so you could argue it might have had a better capacitiy to remember. Have a read through this website: http://humanorigins.si.edu/evidence/human-fossils/species/homo-habilis

OpenStudy (this):

ok i will thanks a lot u were being such nice

OpenStudy (trancenova):

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Oooo and definitely look at this timeline (by clicking the purple lines too), it is really cool! http://humanorigins.si.edu/evidence/human-evolution-timeline-interactive
