A survey about the student government found that 350 students wanted after-school student government programs, 210 students wanted student government classes during the day, and 140 students thought that school should have no student government program. If a circle Graph were made from this data, what would be the measure of the central angle for the "in school" group?
the "in school" group is the 210 or 140?
or 350?
I'm not quite sure, but I don't think it's the 140. Maybe it's talking about the overall students that want the student government program?
uhh then would that be 360? because the overall student is the whole circle so whole circle has angle 360....?
or maybe "in school" is just the opposite of the "after school" so the "in school" group would be 210...
right?
I guess...I really have no idea! But that makes more sense(:
now...can you figure out the *total* number of students?
700 students total
good. now then...the fracttion of the "in school" group would be 210/700 agree?
agreed...So this would be worked out like a ratio, right?
i believe so
can you *simplify* that fraction now?
3/10
good. now multiply it to 360
108
right. so there's your angle
Well that was much simpler than I thought(: Thanks lgba!
