OpenStudy (charlotte123):

Explain how you would find the product of 20^12 and 20^8. Include either the exponent rule or the expanded method in your explanation. Give your answer in exponential form.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

hint: \[\huge a^x \times a^y \implies a^{x+y}\] does that help?

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

It does a bit :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

maybe if i said it in words... if you multiply two numbers with same bases but different exponents, you just copy the base then add the exponents for example \[\huge 2^2 \times 2^3 \implies 2^{2+3} \implies 2^5\] does that help more?

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

yes it does :D

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

wonderful
