What's a good way to study calculus?

From my experience, doing problems is what helps. It is not enough with math to simply look and read what is being done, but actually doing a problem is the easiest.

In general, it's best to start learning the concept of the derivative in terms of limits and then move on from there to integrals in terms of Riemann sums. Of course, as you progress, you can learn all the tricks found inside the back or front covers of most calculus books.

Try to understand what is happening, rather than doing such mechanically. It helps quite a bit.

Read the chapter twice before going to class/lecture.  You will win.  Or don't.  The world needs ditch-diggers.

Depends on which calculus. AC or BC. 
BC is hard :(
