Dilution problem You need to mix 35L of artificial seawater for Dr. B's fish. He hands you a bag of crystallized salt mix and tells you seawater typically has a salt concentration of 35mg/L. How much salt mix would you need? How would you determine the amount of distilled water you needed to dilute the salt mix in? Show work please. Thank you.

To find how much salt is needed: \[\frac{ 35 }{ 1 } = \frac{ x }{ 35 }\] \[x=(35)(35) = 1225\] The answer above is in mg. I'm not really understanding the second part though.. Wouldn't you simply mix the 1225 mg with 35 L of water? I'm assuming since you calculate for 35 L.
