Why do you suppose that these were four freedoms Roosevelt chose to highlight as "essential" FDR speech, "In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms. The first is freedom of speech and expression—everywhere in the world. The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way—everywhere in the world. The third is freedom from want—which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants—everywhere in the world.

Well the first 2 are the first 2 mention in the Bill of Rights and then the other 2 want and fear was what was the people where experiencing during the Great Depression, want and fear

He wanted to calm people down by saying that even though times are tough, we will one days have all of those freedoms for everybody
