Alright all you engineers/higher math students. Would one of you be willing to check my work for a differential equations problem? Solve the equation y'' = x+cos x given the initial conditions y(pi) = 3pi and y'(pi)=pi. I obtained (x^3)/6 - cosx + xC + K [k and c are constants]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are correct, nice job.

Thanks! :D

Although looking at it, I suppose I could solve for an integration constant or two given the initial conditions.

Yes, I thought you were just checking whether your integration was right. But, thankfully, solving for constants isn't the hardest part, haha.
