3+4(z+5)=31
OpenStudy (anonymous):
4(z+5) do this first
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay I got 4z+20
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok so now we got 3+4z+20=31 simplify it more
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Combine like terms right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
ya
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay I got 23+4z=31
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Z= 8
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Is that right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so you have 4z=8 right

OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yeah.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
now divide both sides by 4 so we can get z by itself
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Z=2 thanks can you help me again?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ya

27=3c-3(6-2c)

OpenStudy (anonymous):
-3(6-2c) do this first
OpenStudy (anonymous):
-18-6c
OpenStudy (anonymous):
-18+6c since a negative times a negative is positive
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I know. sorry that was a typo
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so we got 27=3c-18+6c , now combine like terms again

OpenStudy (anonymous):
27=9c-18
OpenStudy (anonymous):
now add the 18 to both sides
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Got it. Then I end up with 5=c
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yup
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay now don't go anywhere I might need help with another problem.
Ps. do u work for this site?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
i dont think anyone works for the site its all voluntary
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Oh...........well I need help with a problem.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
2(3y+1)+3(y+4)=13
OpenStudy (anonymous):
start it out
Join the QuestionCove community and study together with friends!

OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay..... 6y+-2+3y-12=13
Then combine like terms?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
6y+2+3y+12=13, yes combine
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I end up with 9y+14=13
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ya now isolate the 9y on the left
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Divide it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
once the 9y is by itself divide both sides by 9 to get y alone
OpenStudy (anonymous):
-1/9= what?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
-1/9 = y
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Y=-1.11111
OpenStudy (anonymous):
just leave it at -1/9

Okay! :)
What is the solution of 7v-(6-2v)=12
A. -3.6 B. -2. C. 22x=O. D. 22x=12
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i think u got this one man
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I'm not a man. I am a seventh grade girl
OpenStudy (anonymous):
alryte lol its just a saying how would u start this problem
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Oh............sorry.
I think it's a

show me your work
OpenStudy (anonymous):
7v-(6-2v)= 12
5v-6=12 Combine like terms.
5v=12
5/5=0. 12/5=2.4?
I think imdidmsomething wrong
OpenStudy (anonymous):
-(6-2v) = -6+2v since u got a negative times a negative
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Oh............
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So, ugh I don't know!
I'm tired and I have it finish this
Join the QuestionCove community and study together with friends!

OpenStudy (anonymous):
so we got 7v-6+2v=12
OpenStudy (anonymous):
combine like terms
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay...... I got 9v-6=12
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ya now we want the 9v by itself so add the 6 to both sides
OpenStudy (anonymous):
V=12

Sorry, typo v=2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yep correct
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Thank you! I know I've probably have been annoying but can u help me with one more?

ya

1/3(d+3)=5
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[\frac{ 1 }{ 3(d+3) }=5\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
What's the next step?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
we can multiply both sides by 3(d+3)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
this will get rid of the fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):
?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so well have 1=5*3(d+3)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
you see why?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yeah I get it sort of
OpenStudy (anonymous):
alryte so our equation is 1=5*3(d+3) which equals 1=15(d+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):
K.........
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[\cancel{3(d+3)}\frac{ 1 }{ \cancel{3(d+3)} }=5\times3(d+3)\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so anyways 1=15(d+3) will equal 1=15d+45 right
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I got -1.13333333333=d
OpenStudy (anonymous):
leave it in fraction form what did u get

OpenStudy (anonymous):
1=15d+45 , subtract the 45 on both sides to get 15d by itself so well have -44=15d, then divide both sides by 15 to get d alone and you get -44/15=d
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Thank you!!!!!! So much!!!!!! I really want to go to sleep!
