how to calculate least count of a stopwatch

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just dont start your stopwatch. the reading will be 0.00. that is the least count of stopwatch. sorry if i'm not helping you at all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look when u start ur stop watch if u get reading as 0.00 , then the least value measured by watch wiil be 0.01 ....which is ur least count...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.01s + response time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is response time?? @ akash123

OpenStudy (anonymous):

reflex time ...one takes in response to any stimulus...which depends on the individual.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but how does it matter in least count of watch??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

am sorry but am really not getting it...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let us suppose we want to calculate the time period of oscillations of a simple pendulum....in this case we start the stopwatch as soon as the pendulum bob in in either extreme position...but there is a delay in our response time....we see the pendulum bob in the extreme direction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and try to start the stop watch...but there is a slight delay in our response time in starting the stop watch..similarly there is also a small delay in stopping the stop watch....u can measure your response time - take a stop watch and try to start it and stop it as fast as u can...u will get some reading which will give a slight idea of ur response speed...

okay...thank you....
