Let x is the first amount, y is the second:
then 9x + 6y = 18.12
Can you do the second one?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
would it be x + y = 17.88
OpenStudy (anonymous):
SWITCH the amounts x, y: 9x + 6y
OpenStudy (anonymous):
6x + 9y = 17.88
OpenStudy (anonymous):
do you add the two together
or just solve for the two equations

I am a little lost would the first answer for the first equation be x = 2.013333
OpenStudy (anonymous):
not sure what you are saying. can you explain one of the equations
OpenStudy (anonymous):
9x + 6y = 18.12 (1)
-> 6y = 18.12 - 9x
Do you understand this part?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes does that apply to the other equation also
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok give me a min to try to figure it out please

6y = 18.12 - 9x
divide all by 6
y=3.02 - 9x/6
this is what i am getting and i dont think it is right
