lim f(x) is f(x) = {3, x an integer; 1, otherwise} as x-->2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's telling me the answer is 1. Is 2 not an integer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, x->2 means x is very near to 2 but not equal to 2. 2 is an integer,but here x isn't. like x can take values, 1.99999 or 2.000001 ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did u get it @cuzzin ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, ok, so because x is only approaching the value 2, but not exactly 2, it is not an integer, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup,exactly

Makes sense. Thanks, goku. Have a medal.
